This compact, enclosed-style variac transformer from RS PRO weighs less than 2 kg and is found in ordinary household settings as well as more demanding industrial environments. Its versatile design allows for surface, floor or wall mounting, which is easy thanks to the screw terminals supplied. The transformer's rugged construction ensures a long lifetime with almost no maintenance required.

It has a silver-plated commutator that provides a smooth and linear output that's free from waveform distortion. There's built-in overload protection for safety and a low operating torque and low magnetising current for efficiency. Regulation is optimised via the transformer's continuously variable alternating current output voltage with overvoltage tap.

This product is part of RS PRO's professional series of Varivolt transformers that come in a range of current ratings and as both single and three-phase models. The transformers have undergone a rigorous quality control process for safety, durability and reliability.
