Eaton British Standard Fuse, aR Application Category, Bolted Tag Type - 80FE

With this British Standard fuse from Eaton in your setup, you can rest easy knowing your equipment is safe from damage caused by short circuits. It's current rated at 80A and voltage rated at 690V AC/500V DC, meaning it will blow if the power exceeds these limits. As an FF-speed fuse, it's extremely fast-acting and will break instantly in the event of a power surge. This makes it a reliable option for protecting components such as thyristors, diodes and transistors.

Features & Benefits

• aR-type fuse, suitable for protecting power semiconductors
• Offset bolted tags with fixing centres of 63.5mm allow you to fix it to the outside of your installation
• High rupture capacity of 200kA means it will protect your equipment in the event of a substantial power surge

Where would I find a power semiconductor?

This fuse protects power semiconductors in power control systems, where they're used for switching and converting. More specifically, they're found in electrical power generation and transmission systems, where they make it possible to transmit power over long distances.
