Eaton Bussmann HRC Offset Tag Fuses - BS88 British Standard Fuses

Eaton Bussmann's offset tag fuses (or offset bolted tag fuses) are essentially a cylindrical fuse that is fitted with offset brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. Eaton Bussmann's fuses are commonly found within a multitude of industrial and switchgear applications, electrical equipment, wiring systems and circuit breakers. This fuse range is suitable for general purpose use.

Features & Benefits

• The low-temperature rise enables the fuse to be suitable for high-density mounting
• Fuse links, specifically designed for the protection of equipment
• Conforms to industry standards
• Low voltage fuse
• High rupture capacity (HRC)
• Suitable for three-phase applications
• Suitable for type 2 co-ordinated applications as defined in IEC 947-4
• Low power loss, typically 20% lower than the requirements of BS 88

Why use a slotted tag fuse?

A slotted tag fuse is distinguished by the metal slotted tags that extend off the ends of the fuse. This tag can either enable the fuse to have an offset tag or be centred to the fuse. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage protection measure within electrical circuits.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, 6A, 550V AC NITD6

Need a general-purpose fuse? This safety-enhancing device from Eaton protects a wide variety of components against overcurrent and short circuits. It safeguards industrial electrical equipment and wiring systems and can be used in conjunction with circuit breakers to reduce the risk of damage, shocks and fires. The fast-acting fuse responds quickly to both high and low current faults by melting to break a circuit. It doesn't release harmful gases or smoke when it blows, so poses no safety risk to people. Its resistor is well sealed inside a cylindrical tube to ensure the fuse's function isn't adversely affected by external environmental conditions.

• Temperature-resistant housing so won't melt nearby cables if it blows
• Insensitive to aging for reduced maintenance and improved longevity
• Quick to install and remove, thanks to its bolted tags that easily slot into a fuse holder

What size is this fuse?

This fuse has a compact size that calls for minimal space on a distribution board. Its dimensions are 55 (L) x 34.6 (H) x 13.8mm (D).

What type of fuse is this?

This is a type F fuse, which means that it's a fast-blow component that quickly melts and breaks a circuit when a fault occurs.
