Eaton Bussmann HRC Offset Tag Fuses - BS88 British Standard Fuses

Eaton Bussmann's offset tag fuses (or offset bolted tag fuses) are essentially a cylindrical fuse that is fitted with offset brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. Eaton Bussmann's fuses are commonly found within a multitude of industrial and switchgear applications, electrical equipment, wiring systems and circuit breakers. This fuse range is suitable for general purpose use.

Features & Benefits

• The low-temperature rise enables the fuse to be suitable for high-density mounting
• Fuse links, specifically designed for the protection of equipment
• Conforms to industry standards
• Low voltage fuse
• High rupture capacity (HRC)
• Suitable for three-phase applications
• Suitable for type 2 co-ordinated applications as defined in IEC 947-4
• Low power loss, typically 20% lower than the requirements of BS 88

Why use a slotted tag fuse?

A slotted tag fuse is distinguished by the metal slotted tags that extend off the ends of the fuse. This tag can either enable the fuse to have an offset tag or be centred to the fuse. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage protection measure within electrical circuits.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, 126A, 550V AC NITD16

Choose this British Standard fuse from Eaton for reliable protection against short circuits and overcurrent. It's a versatile general-purpose device that's suitable to use as a protective component in industrial control cabinets and distribution boards. The fuse contains a resistor that quickly melts in the event of an electrical fault to cut off power supply. This prevents surges from damaging equipment, which could lead to lengthy downtime. Its high rupture capacity (HRC) allows it to safely break even very high currents. It's also able to reliably break low currents for improved versatility.

• Low temperature rise so suitable to use in high-density panels without the risk of overheating
• Slotted tags on either end for quick and simple mounting
• Low power loss for improved energy efficiency in an electrical system
• Versatile as it's compatible with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC)

How robust is this fuse?

A high rupture capacity fuse like this one is designed to be tough and long-lasting. Its capsule is typically made from a strong ceramic material or epoxy resin while its end caps and tags are made from metal to stop them from easily breaking.
