This RS PRO residual current device (RCD) socket trips and interrupts the power supply when the electrical current is faulty. Use it to prevent damage to devices, protect against electrical shocks and manage fire hazards. It's mechanically latched and will automatically reset after a power outage.
The socket meets the requirements of the British Standard BS1363, meaning it has neutral and line slot shutters that close when nothing is plugged in for added safety. Use it for appliances that are permanently plugged in, like washers.
