RS PRO Precision Cable Stripper


From RS PRO, this precision circular cable stripper is ideal for the preparation of coaxial cable and other multilayer cables up to 10 mm diameter. The cable stripper consists of three spring-loaded individual cutting blades which can be set at independent depths by continuously variable adjustment wheels, so that the different stages of stripping coaxial cable may be precisely controlled.

Twelve cable stops are provided (4 mm-15 mm in 1 mm steps) which, when fitted to the tool determines stripping lengths of braid, dielectric and inner conductor. Lengths may also be varied or finely adjusted by altering the depth of stop fitting. Once locked in position (locking wheels are provided) a cable may be inserted under each blade, butted against the appropriate cable stop in turn, and a few rotations of the stripper prepare cable ready for assembly to connectors and terminals.

The coaxial cable stripper features include arbitrary scales against the adjustment wheels to give a good indication of blade depth for repeatable operation. Also, one side wheel is colour coded, so that sequence of preparation can be easily identified. The center blade cuts insulation down to a minimum conductor diameter of 1 mm.

A set of 3 spare blades is provided with each stripper, and replacement blades are available separately (RS 548-158.)
