Eaton Bussmann Series Red Spot™ Range, Type 'T' HBC Fuses

The Red Spot range of offset slotted fuses (or bolted tag fuses) from Eaton Bussmann is specifically designed for the protection of general industrial applications such as power distribution, cable protection and motor protection. Available in BS88 British Standard fuse sizes from A1 to A4, offset slotted and bolted fuses are suitable for general purpose rating (gG) and dual motor rating (gM) motor protection types.

Features and Benefits

• 2 to 200 A rated current
• Breaking capacity 80 kA up to 690 V ac
• Type A1 rated up to 550 V ac/ 250 V dc
• Type A2 rated up to 660 V ac / 460 V dc
• General purpose (gG) and dual motor rated (gM) types
• Low power dissipation
• ASTA 20 certified

As the fuse allows for the starting surge of a motor its full load current must not exceed the lesser of the dual current rating. e.g. 20 M25 must not have a continuous load of greater than 20A.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, 32A, 660V AC TIA32M40

By acting as a weak link, this British Standard fuse from Eaton breaks an electrical circuit when a dangerous overcurrent occurs. This reduces the risk of damage to electrical components. It can accommodate short surges caused by motor start-ups and only blows when sustained overloads and short circuits occur. As it's a high-rupturing capacity (HRC) fuse, it responds to both high-current and low-current faults for improved protection of equipment. It features low-power dissipation, so minimises energy wastage. A versatile fuse like this is well-suited for safeguarding a wide variety of motor-propelled equipment, such as turbines, engines and transformers.

• Tagged fuse that's easy to mount and replace if it blows
• Improves safety by reducing the risk of fire and electrical shock
• Resistant to ageing so needs minimal maintenance

Does this fuse produce sparks or harmful gas?

No, this cylindrical-shaped fuse is designed to produce no sparks, gas or electrical discharge when its resistor melts.

Do I need to use a fuse if I've got a circuit breaker?

A fuse with a high breaking capacity like this one is useful as a complementary protection device in a low-voltage system. You can use it as a back-up to a circuit breaker.
