Eaton Bussmann HRC Offset Tag Fuses - BS88 British Standard Fuses

Eaton Bussmann's offset tag fuses (or offset bolted tag fuses) are essentially a cylindrical fuse that is fitted with offset brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. Eaton Bussmann's fuses are commonly found within a multitude of industrial and switchgear applications, electrical equipment, wiring systems and circuit breakers. This fuse range is suitable for general purpose use.

Features & Benefits

• The low-temperature rise enables the fuse to be suitable for high-density mounting
• Fuse links, specifically designed for the protection of equipment
• Conforms to industry standards
• Low voltage fuse
• High rupture capacity (HRC)
• Suitable for three-phase applications
• Suitable for type 2 co-ordinated applications as defined in IEC 947-4
• Low power loss, typically 20% lower than the requirements of BS 88

Why use a slotted tag fuse?

A slotted tag fuse is distinguished by the metal slotted tags that extend off the ends of the fuse. This tag can either enable the fuse to have an offset tag or be centred to the fuse. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage protection measure within electrical circuits.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, 160A, 415V AC DEO160

Protect your electrical components from the dangerous effects of overcurrent and short circuits with this British Standard fuse from Eaton. It instantly responds to short circuits and current overload in appliances by blowing to stop any more current from flowing to subsystems. The fuse is suitable to use in low-voltage industrial applications, such as engineering systems and automated assembly lines. It's a hard-wearing device that's resistant to ultra-violet light and weathering, so offers an extended service life. It needs no maintenance and, for easy use, is quick to replace if it blows. Brackets on either end of this tagged fuse make it simple to bolt onto a holder for quick and uncomplicated installation.

• High-rupture capacity (HRC) that's able to stop both high overcurrent and low voltage faults
• Compact size that needs minimal space with dimensions of 110 (L) x 47 (H) x 31mm (D)

What materials is a high-rupturing fuse made from?

A high-rupturing fuse like this one features metal end caps and a body made from heat-resistant material. It features a silver current-carrying element and a body packed with a cooling medium, like chalk, quartz or marble which absorbs the heat produced by normal current.
