Allen Bradley Guardmaster Safety Enabling Switch, 3 Positions, 2NC - 440J-N21TNPM-NP

Use this enabling switch from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley Guardmaster range to increase safety when accessing a hazardous area of a machine. It has three positions, meaning the circuit is cut when the trigger is either untouched or compressed too much. The circuit is only completed when the actuator is in the mid-position, and the operator is expected to either relax or tense their hand when an unexpected event occurs. This cuts the circuit and stops the machine.

Features & Benefits

• Impact-resistance polyamide (PA) housing for durability
• Hand-operated switch with an ergonomic grip style for a comfortable operating position
• Pre-installed base plate for quick, straightforward installation
• Cable strain relief helps to prevent wear and tear keeping maintenance low
• IP65 (ingress protection) rating indicates protection from dust and low-pressure water jets in any direction

Standards and Certifications

• CE (Conformitè Europëenne)

Is it safe to use this enabling switch when a machine is fully operational?

If you are accessing a dangerous machine part, you need to carry out a risk assessment to determine at what level the machine can operate while providing safe access for maintenance. Usually, you use the enabling switch when a machine is in a reduced performance state.
