This power cord is terminated on one end with an IEC C14 type connector that connects to the appliance. The other end of this power lead is unterminated and can be wired to a mains plug when convenient. This power cord is terminated with a fully moulded IEC C14 plug which is used to connect the cable to a mating IEC C13 connector in an appliance or as a socket extension. C13 and C14 connectors have 3 pins, a rated current of 10 A and a maximum temperature rating of 70°C, and are sometimes referred to as ’cold connectors’. IEC connectors conform to IEC-60320 specifications laid down by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to ensure the connector meets common global design standards
