RS Pro Black Glass Fibre Reinforced Nylon Solid Plastic Sheets - GRP Sheet : Glass Renforced Plastic

From RS Pro a range of high-quality glass fibre reinforced black nylon sheets available in a range of sizes and thicknesses.

What are Solid Plastic Sheets?

Solid plastic sheets are sheets of strong durable plastic or plastic like materials which are cut to size and sold in a wide range of sizes and thickness. These hard plastic sheets, once purchased, can then be cut or machined into components for the fabrication of products for use in a wide range of industries. Different plastics have different properties which lend them for use in specific applications

What is Glass Fibre Reinforced Nylon?

This plastic is made from Nylon 66 (PA 66) which is reinforced with 30% glass fibre. This type of plastic is also known as Nylon 66 GF30. Compared to normal unreinforced PA 66, this plastic is stronger, more rigid with high dimensional stability creep strength. The dimensional stability is the degree to which a material maintains its original dimensions when subjected to changes in temperature and humidity. Creep is the term used for the tendency of a solid material to move slowly or deform permanently under the influence of mechanical stresses. The glass fibre inside this Nylon 66 GF30 can be abrasive on mating surfaces so this material is not best suited for use in sliding applications. The black colour of this glass filled nylon means it has improved UV protection and weather resistance and suitable for outdoor use. This hard plastic sheet is easily machined and bonded
