Introducing hermetically sealed general purpose enclosures from our own brand RS PRO, a range of enclosures ideal for housing and protecting internal electrical parts and components. The base and lid of this general purpose protective enclosure is manufactured from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), offering excellent chemical corrosion resistance in its solid state, as well as scratch resistance and shock absorbance.

This two part durable enclosure is supplied with a silicon gasket and four screws, offering an IP65 rating ensuring protection from water and dust ingress. This general purpose enclosure also features an IK08 rating, ensuring enhanced protection from mechanical impact. The lid features a recess ideal for keypads and overlays and can be securely attached to the base via thread brass inserts, ensuring easy and reliable assembly.

IP (Ingress Protection) levels refer to the level of protection materials such as an electrical enclosure has against solids such as dust, debris and liquids. The first digit identifies the level of protection from a physical intrusion whereas the second digit identifies the level of protection from water and other liquids. A lower IP rating (such as IP54 offers protection from limited dust ingress whereas a high IP rating such as IP78 can offer complete dust proof protection plus a continuous level of protection underwater.

This enclosure offers an IP65 rating, offering protection from dust ingress and water from a nozzle.

Any modifications made to the enclosure will subsequently reduce the IP protective level.

Although this enclosure offers protection from dust and splashes of water, it is not recommended for outdoor use.
