3M Sweet Test Solution, Sodium Saccharin Composition, 1g/ml Density - FT11


Check your respirators and half masks for seal leaks in minutes with this sweet test solution from 3M. It's a sodium saccharin and water mixture that acts as a sensitivity test to check the adequacy of PPE. The user puts on a hood and collar and the solution is introduced via a nebuliser. If the user can taste the solution when wearing their mask or respirator, it indicates a leak.

How should the user prepare for the sensitivity test?


The person taking the test shouldn't eat or drink anything in the 15 minutes before the test. It's also important they're not chewing gum as that affects their ability to taste the solution.
