When connecting asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) modems to office or home telephone sockets, you often need to allow for additional capacity. This versatile, cable-mount RS PRO RJ22 plug has four wireable contacts on the inside rather than the standard two to allow for additional lines.

It has resilient phosphor bronze contacts that are gold-plated for corrosion resistance and protection from rust. This plug meets safety standards ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007, so it will guard against damage due to electrostatic discharge.

RJ22 plugs will transmit data at speeds up to up to 24 Mbit/s, so you can use them with equipment such as fax machines and telephones.
