Si88x2x Series Dual Digital Isolators

Dual channel digital isolators from Silicon Labs with integrated on-chip DC-DC control circuitry and drivers. The devices require only a miniature transformer and minimal passive components for complete functionality. External power switches can be used to increase converter efficiency or output power. Typical applications include industrial automation systems, hybrid electrics, isolated power supplies, data acquisition, motor control and PLCs.

• Two unidirectional channels
• Up to 5000 Vrms isolation
• High speed: up to 100 Mbps
• Low propagation delay: 18ns typical
• High electromagnetic immunity with ultra-low emissions
• Long 100-year operating lifespan
• Safety features include dc-dc shutdown, frequency control and soft start
• UL, CSA, VDE, and CQC certified

Digital Isolators, Silicon Laboratories

The Silicon Labs broad range of Digital Isolation products offers significant improvements over older isolation technologies such as opto-couplers. They demonstrate lower power consumption, greater reliability and higher performance, and are generally smaller in size and lower in cost. These CMOS-based devices exhibit stable operating characteristics over a wide temperature range and do not suffer from the lifespan limitations of opto-coupled devices.
