WOOD is a modified PLA based type of filament, that smells and feels like wood. The filament is a bit brittle, but tough enough to be supplied in reels of 300 gram to 1kg. It prints easy, but we advise a slightly bigger nozzle to avoid blocking. Due to a low shrinkage factor WOOD will not deform after cooling. Poly Lactic Acid is a biodegradable plastic made from renewable natural resources and one of the most popular materials for 3D printing
Feels and smells like WOOD Easy to print at low temperature Very low warping Biodegradable Preferably printed with > 0.4mm nozzle
Once youve purchased your filament its important to store it correctly to maintain its quality. Over time the plastic will absorb moisture from the air, creating small water bubbles in the filament. These bubbles when heated in the extruder nozzle will quickly reach boiling point, spoiling the print. The use of desiccant dehumidifiers to absorb the moisture is highly recommend
Note
Due to its low tendency to warp WOOD can also be printed without a heated bed. If you have a heated bed the recommended temperature is ± 35-60゚C. WOOD can be used on all common desktop FDM or FFF technology 3D printers. We advise a nozzle > 0,4mm Storage: Cool and dry (15-25゚C) and away from UV light. This enhances the shelf life significantly
