Monitor mounts are a type of bracket that enables you to attach your monitor to a wall. Some monitor mounts are VESA complaint and are referred to as VESA mounts. VESA is a set of standards used in the manufacturing of flat screen TVs and PC monitors that specifies a series of mounting hole patterns on the back of displays. If your monitor is VESA compliant you can work out the VESA size by locating the 4 mounting holes on the back and measuring the horizontal and vertical distance between the holes in millimeters. Common VESA sizes are 200 x 200 mm for monitors up to 32 in., 400 x 400 mm for monitors up to 60 in. and 600 x 400 mm for monitors up to 84 in. Some monitor mounts have adjustable arms or can be tilted to avoid screen glare and provide a clear viewing angle.Monitor arms are a type of adjustable monitor riser that are used on a desktop to elevate your laptop to a comfortable height. One end of the mount is attached to the back of your monitor, the other is secured or clamped to your desk. Monitor arms also increase desk space and are available as single arms or dual monitor arms.
