Productomschrijving
ebm-papst 8400 N Series DC Axial Fans with Tachometer Output
What is a DC Axial Fan?
DC axial fans are designed to create airflow with a high flow rate and medium pressure. Axial fans have an impeller surrounded by blades which works in a similar way to a propeller. The motor of the fan is integrated into the hub of the impeller to provide a compact fan unit. The impeller draws in air axially in a parallel direction to the revolving motor shaft and forces air out in the same direction. The axial fan is surrounded by a flanged housing with mounting holes allowing it to be mounted inside equipment.
Efficient and Reliable Motor
External Rotor Motor: Unlike traditional internal rotor motors where the rotating shaft is surrounded by electromagnetic coils ebm-papst fans feature an external rotor motor. In an external rotor motor the magnetic coils are encased inside a rotating shell. The advantage of this design is that external rotor motors are more compact in size, run more efficiently and are less prone to overheating than internal rotor motors
Brushless Motor: These DC fans have brushless motors where the electrical switching is carried out by electronic circuits rather than metal brushes. As they don't have any brushes to wear out, brushless motors are more efficient and reliable than AC motors and have a longer life span. The integrated electronics of brushless motors also allow extra interface options and motor protection to be built into the fan.

Expertly Designed
The fan impellers and the inner shape housing of the ebm-papst compact DC axial fans are expertly designed using state-of-the-art computer software. The blades are aerodynamically engineered and dynamically balanced in two planes for optimum performance. The air output and motor performance are precisely matched to the size of the fan which results in low noise, even at high

back pressure.
Tachometer Output
These 8400 N/2GH DC axial fans have an integrated electronic tachometer that produces a signal giving information about the speed of the fan. A separate wire on the fan is used to transfer the signal. This feature enables constant external monitoring of the fans motor speed.
